Leo Carter is a director and producer on CTV News at Six. Leo is a proud Dartmouthian who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University, with a major in English. In 1995, Leo graduated from the Atlantic Media Institute and began his career in broadcasting at CTV Atlantic (known as ATV at the time). Leo started out as an autocue operator and then transitioned to roles like production assistant, sports producer, field producer, and director. Leo spent 10 years as one of the producers on CTV Atlantic’s Live at 5. In 2013, he made the move to the six o’clock news and is a producer and director of that show. Throughout his time at CTV Atlantic, Leo has covered a variety of topics, including breaking news, major weather events, elections, and royal visits. He has also produced live remote broadcasts from all corners of the Maritimes, and is a volunteer and member of the board of Christmas Daddies. Leo is a generalist, but he especially likes writing sports stories. Leo also enjoys producing a regular digital segment called the Video Vault, which highlights video from the CTV Atlantic archives. When Leo is not working, he enjoys travelling, baseball, and basketball. Leo speaks English.
