Historic home of notorious B.C. cult listed for $2.8M

The former homestead of one of Canada’s most notorious cults is up for sale. The historic island property is largely unchanged since the 1920s, when it served as the reputed 'Ark of Refuge' for spiritual leader Brother XII and his Aquarian Foundation.

Pay-by-space parking coming to downtown Victoria parkades

The City of Victoria introduced a pilot project in the Johnson Street parkade last year, and says it's expanding the program in response to its success. The Centennial Square parkade will be the next to convert to the new system, beginning on Monday, May 10.

While the government continues to insist that individuals' online audio or video content won't be subject to federal regulations under Bill C-10, the Canadian Radio-television and telecommunications Commission (CRTC) could impose regulations related to discoverability if the account has a large enough following or is making enough money off of it, according to Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault.
