Victoria police are searching for two men who fled on a motorcycle after a jewelry store was robbed in broad daylight in downtown Victoria.

Police said they were called to the 600-block of Fort Street at around 4:40 p.m. after receiving several calls about an incident unfolding at Paul Mara Jewellers, across from the Bay Centre.

They’re now searching for two men who were reportedly wearing black vests with green stripes and white helmets.

The men were last seen heading head down Broughton Street toward Government Street, according to police.

Police vehicles surrounded the jewelry store Wednesday afternoon as officers investigated the robbery.

“As you can imagine this is the kind of circumstance that can be quite concerning for anyone in the area,” said Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko.

He confirmed nobody suffered injuries in the incident. Police have yet to confirm what was stolen from the store.

They’re asking anyone who sees the men to call 911 immediately.

Correction: We initially reported each man fled the scene on a motorcycle. The men were actually riding in tandem on one motorcycle.
