Police say two people are in custody following a manhunt in Chemainus on Friday.
More than a dozen police vehicles and officers in camouflage were seen on Chemainus Road around Howe Road at 5:30 p.m. after there were reports of shots being fired.
People who live in the area say police left the scene around 10 p.m.
Officials say there is no risk to public safety.
