Police are searching for a man accused of exposing himself to a child near an Esquimalt elementary school just after classes let out Friday.

It happened in an area near Ecole Macaulay Elementary at around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

Victoria police are praising the child, who wasn’t harmed, for going straight home to tell a parent what happened.

He was last seen near the intersection of Macaulay and Wollaston streets.

Police are scouring the area for any signs of the man, but are also asking anyone with information to come forward by calling police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
