A 21-year-old driver has been arrested in Qualicum Beach after police say he struck a teen girl with his vehicle in what appears to be an intentional act.
Oceanside RCMP said officers were called to a residential address at 1:15 p.m. and found the 16-year-old girl, who lives on the street, conscious under a vehicle but in clear distress.
The victim was rushed by paramedics to hospital, where she was said to be in stable condition.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was known to the victim, according to police, and witnesses reported that the crash appeared to be deliberate.
The man remained on scene and was taken into custody as soon as police arrived.
Charges have yet to be announced in the collision.
