The B.C. government is cracking down on hunters who use drones to track their prey.
It’s now illegal for people to use or even have a drone with them while hunting or trapping, following an amendment to the Wildlife Act.
It’s also illegal for a third party to use a drone to help a hunter.
There are hefty fines for anyone who breaks the law.
The minimum fine is $2,500, but a first conviction could cost a hunter $250,000 and up to two years in jail.
