According to officials, the teen was struck by a charcoal grey Dodge Dakota just after 4 p.m. on Willis Point Road, west of Wallace Drive.

Police say the pickup truck took off right after the crash.

Witnesses told officers that a short interaction between the driver and cyclist may have taken place before the collision.

The teen, who police describe as a national level athlete, was taken to Victoria General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver was a woman with blonde hair.
