Mounties have seized a quantity of drugs and $1,000 in cash after arresting an alleged drug trafficker on the West Shore.

Officers from West Shore RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit arrested the 33-year-old Langford man on Painter Road in Colwood on May 3.

They say the arrest is connected to an ongoing investigation into alleged drug trafficking on the West Shore.

A subsequent search of the man and his vehicle yielded the cash, several baggies containing suspected cocaine, marijuana and cellphones.

The man was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 17.
