Police seized roughly 31 grams of suspected crystal meth after a driver complaint led to the arrests of two alleged drug traffickers early Friday morning.

Just after midnight, West Shore RCMP were tipped off that a brown Pontiac Sunfire was driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic on the Island Highway in Colwood.

Police tracked down the vehicle to Goldstream Avenue and pulled it over to discover it was occupied by two men who had a no-contact order between each other – the result of a drug-related arrest on July 29.

A 49-year-old Esquimalt man and 50-year-old Victoria man were taken into custody.

A search incidental to the arrest turned up the 31 grams of meth as well as six grams of suspected crack cocaine, several cell phones and knives.

Both men face charges related to breach of conditions and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They each made their first court appearances Friday.
