Police are warning residents near Observatory Hill to be on the lookout for a bear spotted in the area early Monday morning.
The bear was spotted in the 5000-block of West Saanich Road, near the entrance to the Observatory.
Saanich police were dispatched to the area but couldn't track down the animal.
The sighting has been reported to the BC Conservation Officer Service and officials want area residents, parents of children playing in the area and people visiting the park to be aware.
