Investigators have confirmed the identity of a woman found dead in a Salt Spring Island home on Wednesday as 47-year-old Heather Jones.
A man taken into custody following the discovery of her body in a Maliview Drive duplex has been identified by family members as Jones's 22-year-old son.
RCMP said the man arrested has been released from police custody and apprehended under the Mental Health Act.
They say they're now trying to piece together the days and hours leading up to Jones's death, while a forensic autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
