BC Ferries is reporting a two-sail wait for ferries from Swartz Bay to Tsawassen as the busy holiday long weekend wraps up.

Ferries were completely booked up until the 6 p.m. sailing, which was already 80 per cent full as of 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Monday.

The Crown corporation had estimated the holiday Monday to be a “very busy” travel day at the Swartz Bay terminal from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

BC Ferries said it also expected foot passenger overloads at the terminal between noon and 5 p.m.

Ferries from the mainland to Swartz Bay were also sold out until the 5 p.m. sailing, which was 60 per cent full as of 3 p.m.
