A big fare break for some BC Ferries passengers starts today.
For the next six weeks, passengers will get a 50 per cent discount on fares for non-peak travel -- mainly during the week at mid-day.
The discounts don't apply to vehicles.
CEO Mike Corrigan says the promotion is part of efforts by BC Ferries to test the waters as it moves to a more variable pricing model.
