A collision between a cyclist and a Victoria police van in October is under review by the department's professional standards section and the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner.

The collision happened at the intersection of Government and Chatham streets the morning of Oct. 26.

The cyclist was rushed to hospital for treatment of what were described at the time as non-life threatening injuries.

It remains unclear whether the van hit the cyclist or if it was the other way around.

Victoria police say the level of injury met the requirements for a professional standards review.

The OPCC is a civilian-led independent office that monitors complaints and investigations involving municipal police forces.
