Victoria's big Canada 150 party officially kicks off today across the provincial capital.
For the next 11 days, downtown Victoria will feature more than 100 live performances marking the sesquicentennial.
The party was financed in part by more than $400,000 dollars in federal funding, and culminates with fireworks on the evening of July 1st.
Victoria Police have already said they have been planning for months in advance for the festivities and will have many police officers deployed.
